Project (Agriculture and Forestry) 2019-2020

Project Idea

S.NO. Project Title Description
1 Development of hybrid flower varieties by traditional breeding method In this by applying the breeding methods hybrid plants can be generated. For eg. On a single tree we can have more than one variety of guavas
2 Tissue culture of commercially valuable orchids Tissues of orchids can be cultured in vitro and their micropropagation can enhance their production and hence economy
3 Development of a new media formulation for plants There are many well developed media for their favourable growth in vitro, but any other type of media can be formulated which is low in cost and highly sustainable
4 Production of fish powder fortified flour As till date no flour is made which has the fish part in it. So, fish can be dehydrated and then ground to be mixed properly with the flour texture.
5 Development of a hybrid plant by grafting technique A hybrid plant can be developed by applying common grafting technique
6 Shelf life enhancement of papaya by edible coating Edible coating solution can be prepared from carboxy methyl cellulose or hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose and can be used to increase the post harvest quality of papaya
7 Shelf life enhancement of banana by edible coating Edible coating solution can be prepared from carboxy methyl cellulose or hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose and can be used to increase the post harvest quality of banana
8 Shelf life enhancement of peach by edible coating Edible coating solution can be prepared from carboxy methyl cellulose or hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose and can be used to increase the post harvest quality of peach
9 Antioxidant enrichment of strawberry by phenol rich edible coating solution Edible coating solution can be prepared from carboxy methyl cellulose or hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose by addition of phenols extracted from the pomegranate peels or other sources and can be used to increase the post harvest quality of peach. Phenols extracted have antibacterial and antifungal activity.
10 Essential oil extraction from fish waste Essential oil can be extracted from fish waste by using solvents like hexane, which is a very good solvent for solubilizing hydrophobic biomolecules

1 Comparative study of effect of fertilizers, manure and positive vibrations on the field crop growth and yield Ms. Reetika Joshi reetikaj1992@gmal.com AbhnikaPriyadrshi Satyam Vats Anjali Kothari Kapil Pathak Gaurav Kumar To make 4 fields and after proper tillage, providing one field with only inorganic fertilizer, second field with only field manure, third field with no manure or fertilizer but with only positive vibrations. 4th field should be taken as control for differentiation
2 Hybrid plant development Mr.Jagmohan jagmohank496@gmail.com Sandeep Dipankar LalitYadav Rahul Yadav SubhranshuShekhar KajalKumari Hybrid plant development by any novel technique.
3 Edible coating of strawberry using combination of carboxymethyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose Mrs.Anshu Singh anshusingh459@gmail.com Abdul Wahid Pranav Kumar Patra Rakesh Kumar Syed Shakeel Priyanka Deb Making the edible coating solution of CMC and HPMC, which are having a property of firm formation. The edible coating solution can be used to coat the strawberry and hence is a post harvest treatment for strawberry.

S.NO. PROJECT NAME DESCRIPTION
1 Hydroponics Hydroponics is the soil less agriculture. Work has been done for converting the total soil agriculture with the technique of soil less agriculture. This technique is rarely known in India.
2 Automatic cover polyhouse model Students have designed a model of a polyhouse which has an automatic covering system. This can facilitate the growth of crops.
3 Biogas generation model. Students are working very hard for making a model of biogas pilot plant. They are using waste material for fabricating the same.
